preparing to leave

Only a few days left before I'll take the train to Schiphol and depart for Ghana!

I'm really nervous....

Poema also doesn't understand what's going on around him:

welcome

Hi there, thank you for visiting my blog. I created this blog to serve as a field diary for my upcoming research. I will be leaving for Ghana on the third of July for my Msc research on girls' migration. I will stay in Ghana for three months, hopefully travelling between the north and the south to interview girls who migrated to Accra and girls who have returned to their own village in the north after a period of stay in Accra.

I'm hoping that this research will go smoothly, that I will hear a lot of interesting stories and that I will meet many inspiring and friendly people... I will keep you posted on this!

For now, I am preparing my leave, writing my research proposal and arranging all kinds of practical matters. I'm getting seriously nervous about leaving, saying goodbye to family and friends and missing those who are extremely dear to me... but I am also very excited, since I will return to my roots after 24 years!

I'll do my best to keep this blog up to date by posting pictures and stories. In the mean time, feel free to react on this blog, or email me!

Un abrazo fuerte, Emma
